Fathers Day and Lots of Other Fun!

We have been having so much fun lately that it has been hard to get back here and update y'all on all that we've doing. Here is an overload of pictures of what we have been doing:

Spending time at the lake is always a top priority.

Some of my church friends called me last minute and had an extra Brothers of the Sun ticket, and I gladly accepted and went with them to see Tim & Kenny at Cowboys stadium. It was a great concert and so much fun!

We also went to the ACU night at the ball park!

We celebrated father's day and showered Andrew with gifts, and you cant have fathers day with out something you copied from Pinterest. Ha! Andrew is such a great hands on and caring dad to Luke. I couldn't dream of a better dad for Luke to have!

I watched my niece and nephew the other day and I managed to get Taylor Jo's hair in to a little pony. It is so fun to play dress up with her!

Luke has been going to swimming lessons the past 2 weeks. He was not loving it the first two days, but now that I hide from him (behind a trashcan) and he can't see me he loves it! He runs to his teacher with so much excitement and is getting very comfortable with the water. He was even jumping off our diving board at home all by his self. I love seeing the improvement he is making!

We found a really cute splash pad near our house that is great to go to when we need to get out of the house and do something different. It is right on Luke's level and he loves it.

Hope y'all are having a great summer and staying cool! It is in the 100s here!

Life Lately

Here's what we have been up to lately:

We have been swimming. A lot.

We went and saw Happy Feet 2.

'Driving' daddy's truck around the block when daddy gets home is his favorite. He wants to be 16 so bad!

We went to the zoo with church friends and cousins!

I have been cleaning out my upstairs and getting rid of stuff. Luke came across his pumpkin and is practicing for October. It never hurts to be prepared! Ha!

We have been reading. And going to story time at the Library.

Luke got a new ride.

Lunch and dinner on the porch is his favorite.

We are loving summer! I hope you are too!

Getting Crafty- Car Caddy

Well the other day I was promising you that I would make an effort to be more crafty. I love to craft, but it is just hard to get started because I never know what to do. Anyways I saw this on pintrest and decided that this would be a good place to start.

Andrew is out of town for the weekend and I am home watching Luke, so since I am here alone with no adult contact I decided to get busy with something to make the time go by faster. (Don't get me wrong, I love to watch Luke and wouldn't have it any other way, but it can just drive you a little crazy only having an 19 month old to talk to, so having something to do helps) So I went to Hobby Lobby and got supplies and then spent today working on it.

This is one of my first sewing projects, so it is still a little ghetto....but it is finished and better than I thought it would turn out. Luke is going to put it to the test tomorrow morning at church. I am always looking for neat (quiet) things for Luke to do at church. He isn't too into sitting still and listening, so a quiet activity is a must.

Cutting out the fabric:

Added car pockets and the road. My black felt was to short so I had to put 2 pieces together, so I made a crosswalk to cover the line where the 2 pieces met.

Orange car for the outside:

I used Velcro to hold the caddy together when folded up.

I haven't added the numbers on the car part (like in the tutorial), maybe I'll get energy to do it tomorrow....

This was a fun little adventure, hopefully Luke will love and it spend time playing with it. It isn't perfect, and sorta looks like a 1st grader made it, but it's made with love. That's what counts, right?!?

Maybe I'll try a quiet book next?!
