Andrew is out of town for the weekend and I am home watching Luke, so since I am here alone with no adult contact I decided to get busy with something to make the time go by faster. (Don't get me wrong, I love to watch Luke and wouldn't have it any other way, but it can just drive you a little crazy only having an 19 month old to talk to, so having something to do helps) So I went to Hobby Lobby and got supplies and then spent today working on it.
This is one of my first sewing projects, so it is still a little ghetto....but it is finished and better than I thought it would turn out. Luke is going to put it to the test tomorrow morning at church. I am always looking for neat (quiet) things for Luke to do at church. He isn't too into sitting still and listening, so a quiet activity is a must.
Cutting out the fabric:
Added car pockets and the road. My black felt was to short so I had to put 2 pieces together, so I made a crosswalk to cover the line where the 2 pieces met.
Orange car for the outside:
I used Velcro to hold the caddy together when folded up.
I haven't added the numbers on the car part (like in the tutorial), maybe I'll get energy to do it tomorrow....
This was a fun little adventure, hopefully Luke will love and it spend time playing with it. It isn't perfect, and sorta looks like a 1st grader made it, but it's made with love. That's what counts, right?!?
Maybe I'll try a quiet book next?!
i love this! abbi! that is so cute!
